Welcome to KnolMe. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KnolMe platform, including our website, applications, AI profile features, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using KnolMe, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
- You must promptly notify us at legal@worldstatelabs.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use KnolMe to:
- Post, share, or distribute illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Harass, intimidate, or threaten other users or third parties.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Configure your AI profile to make false, misleading, or deceptive claims about yourself, your qualifications, or your work.
- Use the AI profile to generate content that promotes discrimination, violence, or illegal activity.
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures.
- Upload malware, viruses, or any other malicious code.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use.
4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
KnolMe uses artificial intelligence (powered by OpenAI) to generate responses through your AI profile. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. They should not be relied upon as professional, medical, legal, or financial advice.
- You are responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of information your AI profile provides, as it represents you to your visitors.
- KnolMe is not liable for any decisions made or actions taken based on AI-generated content.
- Voice-cloned responses generated via ElevenLabs are synthetic and may not perfectly replicate your voice or intent.
5. Intellectual Property
Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you upload, create, or provide through KnolMe, including text, images, documents, voice samples, and project data. By using the Service, you grant KnolMe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.
Our Service
The KnolMe platform, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by KnolMe and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our written consent.
6. Payment, Subscriptions & Refunds
KnolMe offers free and paid subscription plans, as well as one-time credit purchases. Pricing details are available on our website.
- Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing cycle.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
Refund Policy
- All subscription payments and credit purchases are final and non-refundable.
- When you cancel a subscription, you will not be charged again, but no refund will be issued for the current billing period. You continue to have full access to paid features until the period ends.
- All credit purchases are final. Credits are digital consumables and are non-refundable once purchased, whether used or unused.
- In exceptional circumstances, we may issue refunds at our sole discretion. To inquire, contact legal@worldstatelabs.com.
7. Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove any content that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful, misleading, or inappropriate. We may also suspend or restrict accounts that repeatedly violate our policies. While we strive to enforce these standards consistently, we are not obligated to monitor all content and do not guarantee removal of all violating content.
8. Termination and Account Deletion
- You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at legal@worldstatelabs.com.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice.
- Upon account termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except where retention is required by law.
- Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any pre-paid fees, except as stated in Section 6 above.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KnolMe and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to KnolMe in the 12 months preceding the claim. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless KnolMe from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. If you disagree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in San Francisco, California.
